PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure stabilized ink ejection at all times by performing an appropriate initialization operation depending on the environment without providing the printer body with a clock for managing the time, in addition to an initialization operation for eliminating clogging with ink being performed depending on the elapsed time by managing the print rest period in order to perform ink ejection of an ink jet printer normally at all times thereby dispensing with a nickel-cadmium battery or a lithium battery as the power supply of a clock. SOLUTION: At the time of transmitting print data to an ink jet printer 2 or in response to a command therefrom, a personal computer 1 sets a printer driver to transmit the date information of a system timer managed by the personal computer 1. The ink jet printer 2 calculates the print rest time based on the received date information and performs initialization operation set depending on the elapsed time. Furthermore, initialization operation corresponding to the circumferential environment, e.g. the temperature or humidity, is performed. |
