PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impeder for manufacturing a welded pipe capable of improving a welding efficiency by leaps and bounds and having a longer life and superior in corrosion resisting capability, and a manufacturing method for the welded pipe. SOLUTION: In an impeder for manufacturing the welded pipe, in which a laminated body 10 is made from a coated steel plate 8 with 0.3 mm or less of a plate thickness and an insulated coating on the plate surface, and further is accommodated in an insulated case 4, the steel plate is composed of 1.5% to 20% or Cr, 2.5% to 10% of Si, totally 1000 ppm or less by both of C and N; possibly further 5% or less of aluminum, respective 1% or less for Mn and P in accordance with one kind or more than two kinds among Al, Mn and P; and a remaining portion by Fe and an inevitable impurities. Further it has preferably 60μΩ.cm or over of a specific resistance.
