POLYESTER/VINYL DIOXOLANE-BASED COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester/vinyl dioxolane-based coating composition which does not contain a volatile or essentially volatile organic compound. SOLUTION: This coating composition comprises (A) a prepolymer prepared by the reaction of a substituted vinyl dioxolane monomer represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R1' are each H or a 1-10C alkyl; (n) is 0-10; and R2 to R5 are each H or a 1-10C alkyl) with at least one polycarboxylic ester and (B) a catalyst system based on at least one element selected from among Co, Al, and Zn for polymerization initiation.
