PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a creep rupture caused by the corrosion or sulfation of a strap and a connection part between cells, and obtain a longer lasting lead- acid battery by preventing short circuit in the lower part of an electrode group as well. SOLUTION: The lead-acid battery has an electrode plate 13 and a separator 12 both placed vertically in a container 20, and has an electrode plate ear part 11, a strap 3, a connection part 4 between the cells, and the lower edge 12a of the separator, all embedded in resin 10, which is filled up in the bottom part of the container. Then, it is preferable that the external terminal 14 protrudes from the bottom surface of the container 20 and that the junction between the external terminal 14, and that the strap 3 is placed in the resin 10.
