Heading E1F [Also in Division F3] A device for insertion and sealing into a borehole comprises an inflatable rubber sleeve carried co-axially on a longer, rigid, inner tube which accommodates firing cables leading to a blasting cartridge, when the cartridge is fitted on the end of the tube. The sleeve is tightly sealed to the tube at the end of the device remote from that on which the cartridge may be mounted so that pressurised water admitted between the sleeve and the tube seals the sleeve in the borehole and passes out from beneath the sleeve end nearer the charge to fill void spaces in and around the borehole. |
