PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphite crucible having durability, which is strong against impact or thermal shock. SOLUTION: A graphite crucible 1 is obtained by the insertion of a reinforcement 2 into a crucible body, followed by press-forming of the resultant. The reinforcement 2 is obtained by forming a wire 3 such as made of iron, stainless steel, titanium or the like, into the shape of a basket. The crucible is formed by inserting, as a reinforcing metal member, the basket-shaped reinforcement 2 or a bowl-like part and a cylindrical part obtained by press-forming of a porous plate, into the crucible body. Therefore, there can be provided the graphite crucible having durability, which is strong against impact or thermal shock. Further, by inserting the bowl-like part only into a bottom portion, and inserting the cylindrical part only into a cylindrically formed portion, the graphite crucible having durability, in which specific portions of the graphite crucible are reinforced, can be provided.
