The head protector has a shield (1) to be worn on the forehead area, cushioning for the inside of the shield to absorb impact forces and a holder (2-6) connected to the shield and less stable than the shield, to fix it to a footballer's head. Preferably, the shield is formed to correspond to the forehead part of the head and is plate-shaped but heavy. The holder preferably has large recesses (7) on the right or left side or the top of the head.
