Laid-flat, internal sheet tubing (6) is produced. A flat, resin-impregnated fibrous band (14, 15) is applied to a section of this tubing. Application is parallel to a first plane which includes the tubing axis (S). The tubing is raised (e.g. by inflation), lifting with it, the fibrous band. The tubing is then laid flat in a second plane. This plane is rotated about the tube axis (S) with respect to the first application plane. A second, flat, resin-impregnated fibrous band is laid onto the second section which has been re-laid flat. An independent claim is included for corresponding equipment executing the process. This includes a roller pressing unit to flatten the tube as described. It is followed by a second roller pressing unit flattening in a different, rotated plane. Between these two stations, the tubing is raised by internal pressure. Preferred features: Raising is effected by internal pressure. The laid-flat sections seal in the raising gas, preferably air. Rotation is sufficient to either overlap or butt the joins between successive applications of impregnated fibrous bands. Width (BFa) of the fibrous bands exceeds the flat width of the tubing or tubular blank (19). During raising, the overlaps are produced. Sealing of the laid-flat sections is caused by pressure from the rolls of fibrous band material (14, 15), as they unwind. Further stages of raising and fibrous band application, may follow.
|
