PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing method using a recording element having a short ink drying time, a good image quality, and a high gloss. SOLUTION: The ink jet printing method comprises a) a step for preparing an ink jet printer responsive to a digital data signal, b) a step for loading the printer with an ink jet recording element comprising a basic material carrying an image receiving layer containing an inorganic anionic pigment, an organic anionic binder, an organic cationic mordant and thermoplastic polymer particles, c) a step for loading the printer with an ink jet ink composition, and d) a step for printing on the recording element using the ink jet ink in response to the digital data signal. |
