PHOTOCATALYTIC MATERIAL AND PHOTOCATALYTIC BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a more efficient photocatalyst acting with visible light. SOLUTION: A photocatalytic material film (Ti-Cr-O-N film) 12 is formed on a SiO2 substrate 10 by sputtering while using TiO2 and Cr as a target in a nitrogen atmosphere and then TiO2 in the Ti-Cr-O-N film is crystallized by heat treatment. The Ti-Cr-O-N film, which is based on the TiO2 crystals thus obtained and contains Cr and N, expresses excellent photocatalytic activity to act with visible light.
