PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping unit, which can be easily installed to pipelines and can quickly detect a change in gas types. SOLUTION: This piping unit includes a measurement chamber 21, which communicates with a pipe body 20 and in which a gas 2 can be measured without being affected by a flow of the pipe body 20, a measured information-output means 30 for outputting measured information corresponding to a type of the gas 2 flowing out from the pipe body 20 taken into the measurement chamber 21, a determining information-storing means 12 for storing determining information for determining the type of the gas 2 of the measured information outputted by the measured information-output means 30, a gas type change-detecting means 11a1 for detecting the change in the type of the gas 2 flowing in the pipe body 20, based on the measured information outputted by the measured information-output means 30 and the determining information stored in the determination information-storing means 12, and a gas change information-output means 11a2 for generating and outputting gas change information indicating the change in the type of the gas 2, when the gas type change-detecting means 11a1 detects the change of the type of the gas 2.
