PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader, capable of keeping the precision of the original feeding angle of an original feeding means by determining the relative position of the original feeding means and a reader body independently of the precision or elasticity of hinge legs, and to provide an image-forming device provided with the reader. SOLUTION: This image reader, having an original feeding means 3 openable/ closable with respect to the reader body, is provided with a device body H having a reading means 2 for reading original information and the original feeding means 3 attached to the device main body H, so as to be opened/closed through hinges 4a and 4b for feeding an original to the reading position of the reading means 3, and the original feeding means and the main body of device are provided with positioning means 6a and 6b for positioning the original feeding means 3 in an original feeding direction and a direction orthogonal thereto, with respect to the device body H.
