PURPOSE: An automatic mounting and detaching device makes mounting and detaching of a snow chain easy and quick so as to prevent vehicular accidents due to the snow chain properly mounted or detached according to road condition. CONSTITUTION: An automatic mounting and detaching device comprises a power generator(01), a power transmitter, a chain element(05) and a shock absorber. The power generator(01) generates power using the rotary power of a driving wheel. The power transmitter flattens and folds the chain element(05) by using power generated by the power generator(01). The chain element(05) is stuck on the ground area of a tire so as not to be shaken by the rotary power of the driving wheel. The shock absorber connects a chain pad(06) with a chassis or with a frame of a vehicle and absorbs shock applied by vertical movement of the driving wheel.
