METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PERFORMING ECHO CANCEL INSIDE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for suppressing harmful echoes in an exchange without needing a dedicated echo cancel function on each call- out repeating circuit. CONSTITUTION: The exchange to be used in a communication network is provided with a pool of an echo cancel unit to be used when necessary in the case of offering an echo cancel service to a user related to the exchange. A communication connection held by the exchange is analyzed and whether any unallowable reflection is received from a related repeating circuit is decided. When such reflection is detected, one of echo cancel units is the pool used to reduce or eliminate the reflection is assigned to a communication connection. When the communication connection is finished, the echo cancel unit is returned to the pool in order to be later used for different communication connections.
