PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid internal contamination resulting from powder such as foods or medicine while assuring air lock of a rotary valve, and to achieve easy cleaning and inspection of the rotary valve. SOLUTION: During inspecting the rotary valve 1, a knob bolt 24 is removed, an access door 20 is opened, a supporting recessed portion 28 is separated from a terminal protruded portion 70 and a driving side bearing 33 is in the form of overhanging a shaft 7. The terminal protruded portion 70 is deflectedδdownward and so there is an error in clearance between a rotor 8 and a face plate 2, but no trouble occurs in a non-operated condition. When a bolt 74 is removed, a rotor 8 is pulled off the shaft 7, which can be taken outside through an inspection hole 40, resulting in easier internal inspection and cleaning. When the access door 20 is closed, the terminal protruded portion 70 and the supporting recessed portion 28 are guided along tapered faces 61, 71 and forcibly fitted to each other and the access door 20 is fixed to a driven side plate 4 with the knob bolt 24.
