PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel technique for recovering organic wastes in a useful state such as a fuel gas, electric power, heat energy, etc., by treating the organic wastes in a high gasification efficiency. SOLUTION: The process for preparing a fuel gas comprises steps wherein (1) a liquid organic matter is subjected to wet treatment in a first reactor, (2) the gas-liquid mixture phase formed is subjected to gas-liquid partition, (3) the separated liquid phase obtained in step (2) is catalytically cracked to generate a methane gas-containing gas-liquid mixture phase in a second reactor, (4) the gas-liquid mixture phase obtained in step (3) is decarboxylated in the second reactor, (5) a methane gas is recovered from the gas-liquid mixture phase obtained in step (4) and (6) the alkali-containing separated water generated in step (5) is partially regenerated and recycled to step (4). |
