PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of surely preventing contact between a magnetic disk and a magnetic head slider during loading. SOLUTION: This disk device is provided with a housing having a base, a negative pressure head slider having a transducer for reading/writing data in a disk, an actuator for moving the negative pressure head slider across the track of the disk, a mechanism for loading/unloading the negative pressure head slider on the disk by controlling the actuator, and a lamp member fixed on the base for supporting the unloaded negative pressure head slider. The actuator is provided with a suspension having gimbals, a reinforcing plate joined to the suspension, and the negative pressure head slider loaded on the gimbals. The reinforcing place has a pivot, and this pivot supports the negative pressure head slider at a position shifted to an air flow-out end side by 20% or less of a slider length from the longitudinal center of the negative pressure head slider.
