PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent substrate or an electroluminescent element with sufficient accuracy of pattern without any restrictions on the sort of luminous materials. SOLUTION: A layer 13 containing luminous material is formed on a substrate 11 having an electrode 12a, and the doping material is diffused thermally, using a transcription sheet 20 which is composed of a transcription layer 22 containing a doping material and a base material 21, after sublimation or transcription under thermal fusion by the use of a thermal head 30.
