A blind bolt (10) for securing a plurality of workpieces (46, 56) at a desired clamping force includes a pin (12) having an elongated shank (22) terminating at one end in an enlarged pin head (20) and a generally elongated tubular sleeve (16) adapted to receive said pin shank (22). The sleeve (16) includes a first portion adapted to be located in aligned openings (60, 62) in the workpieces (46, 56) and a second portion (35) being located on said pin shank (22) between said pin head (20) and said first sleeve portion. A nut (14) is operatively connected with said pin (12) and is adapted to be engaged by an installation tool whereby an axial force can be applied by the installation tool between said pin (12) and the nut (14) to clamp the workpieces (46, 56) togethert the second sleeve portion (35) is radially deformable at a location between said pin head (20) and a blind side surface (58) of the workpieces (46, 56). |
