摘要 1,113,334. Combine harvesters. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 20 May, 1965 [3 June, 1964], No. 21511/65. Heading A1F. A combine harvester includes a mowing table which comprises a mowing mechanism having at least one transversely extending portion, the or each portion being pivotable with respect to an elevator housing to match unevennesses of the ground and having a pivotal axis which is substantially horizontally parallel to, but spaced from, the coincident longitudinal vertical planes of the mowing table and the harvester. The illustrated combine harvester comprises a header including two mowing portions 4 each pivotable about a horizontal axis afforded by pins 14, 15 and further comprises hydraulically operated means for controlling the height of the header and for raising and lowering portions 4, reels 39 and skids 51. A feeler 58, positioned under crop divider 63A, actuates a valve 108 upon encountering undulations in the ground which valve controls flow of liquid to or from cylinders 104 thus to retain the header at a constant height. This automatic control is terminated upon movement of lever 114 to the left of the position of Fig. 6 since a control valve (not shown) is closed thereby preventing flow of liquid from the valve 108 to reservoir 111. The lever simultaneously controls a valve 119, which is identical to the valve 108, and movement of the lever actuates the valve 119 thus to allow liquid to flow from pump 111A to the cylinders 104 via pipes 127, thus raising the header. A cam 117, which forms a part of the lever, is so shaped that when the lever is positioned in a recess 115 flow of liquid to the cylinders is interrupted; thus the header can be held at a desired height. The header is raised when the lever is positioned to either side of the recess 115, and lowered when the lever engages an element 115A. Raising and lowering of the portions 4, reels 39, and skids 51 is effected by pairs of cylinders, each pair being controlled by a valve identical with valve 108, the valves being in communication with the pump and reservoir. Gas cylinders (145) (Fig. 8, not shown) are in communication with the cylinders which raise and lower the portions 4, and thus those portions have resilient movement. In a further embodiment there is provided a header having a mowing bar pivoted at one end and connected to the mowing platform throughout its length by means of a resilient strip.
