A colored contact lens (10) includes a pupil section (20) and an iris section (22) surrounding the pupil section wherein the iris section is at least partly covered by an orange colorant having a red component. The colored contact lens may also have a hazel colorant and/or a dark colorant. The colored contact lens makes the iris of the wearer of the lens appear to be a striking honey color.
