PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an excessive voltage from being applied to an X-ray tube of a high voltage generator after micro discharge takes place in the X-ray tube. SOLUTION: If tube voltage applied to an X-ray tube X is measured and a sudden drop of the measured voltage Vm is detected, a generating voltage of a high voltage generator is lowered at one time and returned to a general operation state after a returning delay time t1 of not less than 300μs. Since the returning delay time t1 is not less than 300μs, the time from an occurrence of the micro discharge to return of the X-ray tube X to stable state is sufficient in time. Accordingly, a generation of overshoot can be prevented, and a problem that an excessive voltage is applied to an X-ray tube of a high voltage generator can be eliminated.
