PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder detecting a sheet material of non-standard size without any drastic change in structure and any increase in cost. SOLUTION: Outputs of two switches of a switch body 32 are changed by a cam 30 rotated according to the position of a lateral regulating plate 21b regulating the width-directional position of a sheet material held by a sheet feeder cassette 20, and outputs of three switches of a switch body 50 are changed by a detection board 25 slidably moving according to the position of a rear end position regulating plate 22 regulating the rear end position in the length direction of the sheet material. The used sheet material of standard size can be recognized by the combination of the respective switch outputs. A changeover plate 51 is made to move to the front position of the switch body 50 and turns on all the three switches so as to designate that the sheet material of non-standard size is used.
