PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver by which the format of a video signal is automatically changed-over in according with a connected receiver. SOLUTION: A format converting circuit 4 converts the format of the received video signal and outputs it. The video signal is inputted to the receiver 10 via a D terminal 7. Format information for displaying the format of the video signal which can be displayed on the receiver 10 is inputted to the CPU 6 via the D terminal 7. The CPU 6 controls the format converting circuit 4 in accordance with display-possible format information.
