PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a vibration damper device that can keep stable vibration control performance to disturbances of all scales including from small to large deformation, as a damper for a base-isolated building, by expanding the capacity for deformation. SOLUTION: This vibration damper device 10 is disposed between a superstructure A and a foundation part B of a building, which are both capable of relative displacement when receiving displacement force. Link-shaped plate members 2A and 2B with one-side ends 2A and 2B secured to the superstructure A and foundation part B are connected at the other ends 2a1 and 2b1 in journalled fashion, so that both link-shaped plate members 2A and 2B are turnable relative to each other about a center O at the journal connection. A viscoelastic body 5 for displacement energy absorption is sandwiched between the opposing faces of both link-shaped plate members 2A and 2B round the journal connection.
