PURPOSE: To provide a cipher display card which can generate, store, and hold a random cipher, displays the cipher at need so that it can be referred to, and is superior in portability. CONSTITUTION: This card has a thin plane type main body and is equipped with a control circuit 2 which switches two modes, i.e., a cipher registration mode and a cipher retrieval mode. The card has input keys 7 for accepting the input of label data. The card has a cipher generation part 22 which generates a random cipher as to a label corresponding label data when the label data are inputted in the cipher registration mode. The card has a RAM 3 for storing the cipher while making it correspond to the label. The card has a display panel 6 which displays the cipher corresponding to the label corresponding to label data when the label data are inputted in the cipher retrieval mode. Consequently, when a cipher is registered, a random cipher is generated only by inputting label data and when the cipher is retrieved, the cipher is displayed only by inputting the label data.
