PURPOSE: A process for producing a filter cartridge and a tool for implementing the process is provided to improve strength of the cartridge and to reduce a producing cost. CONSTITUTION: A bellows(6) of a filter cartridge is inserted into an injection-molding die(3) and provided with a plastic frame(24) by an injection-molding process. Surfaces of the die lying opposite on another are provided at least at their edge surfaces(15), with saw tooth-like profiles(1,2,30,31). The saw tooth-like profiles are engaged with one another. The profiles hold the individual folds(22,23,35,36) of the bellows in a defined position relative to one another. The bellows is held by the profiles at facial edges(19) of the profiles over a narrow region(18), and pressed together, forming a seal, for the injection-molding process. Thereby, a process for producing the filter cartridge improves strength of the cartridge while reducing a producing cost.
