OPTICAL SPLICER INCLUDING MEMBRANE FOR COMPENSATING REFRACTION INDEX

PURPOSE: An optical splicer is provided to include a membrane for compensating a refraction index inside the optical splicer, thereby minimizing a connection loss of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: An optical splicer consists of an upper cover(5) and a lower cover(7). A V groove(9) for connecting optical fibers(3) is formed in the side plane of the upper and lower covers. An optical fiber is rested along the V groove. The end parts of the optical fiber inserted from the both sides of the optical splicer are connected to each other in the center part of the optical splicer. A membrane(1) having a desired index of refraction and an elastic force is included in the upper and lower covers of the optical splicer in which the optical fibers are connected to each other. The membrane is placed between the contact planes of the optical fibers inserted along the V groove from the both sides of the optical splicer.
