PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computed radiography system which is made compact and has a high video plate efficiency and is free from degradation of a phosphorescent body for containing due to excessive handling. SOLUTION: A computed radiography cassette which is provided with a cassette shell 11, which doesn't transmit light, and an image plate 16 which is supported by an extrusion 7 closing the cassette shell 11 and stores a latent image is received in an image plate loading/unloading station 52 in the vertical direction. A scanning station which scans the image plate 16 is provided under the image plate attachment/detachment station 52, and an image plate transport assembly is provided which takes out the image late 16 from the cassette shell 11 to transport the image plate 16 beyond the scanning station in the vertical direction.
