PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electronic component which enables to install a stopper mechanism even without enlarging the external size and the thickness size of a variable resistor. SOLUTION: This rotary electronic component is equipped with a board 50 obtained by forming a slide contact pattern 59 on its surface and a slid 10 mounted freely turnably on the board 50. A stopper part 14 projecting in the direction toward the board 50 is provided on the slid 10. The stopper part 14 is inserted into a stopper engaging part 57 provided on the board 50 to make a contact with abutting parts on both ends of the stopper engaging part 57, so that the rotating angle of the slider 10 is regulated.
