PURPOSE: A method for selling and keeping a virtual pet on the network and a recording media capable of being read from a computer are provided to enable users to directly keep a pet on the users' homepages by allocating personal homepages to the users on the network, and by selling virtual pets. CONSTITUTION: A virtual pet growth program is generated, and stored in a memory of a server computer(200). A user connects to the server computer(202). It is judged whether the user is a member(203). In case that the user isn't a member, the user becomes of members(204). A personal homepage is allocated to the user(205). The server computer presents a catalog of virtual pets to the user(206). A virtual pet selected by the user is sold to the personal homepage of the user(207). A matching between the user and the virtual pet is performed, and stored in a database(208). It is judged whether the user inputs a breeding unit(210). A motion or an appearance of the virtual pet relevant to the breeding unit inputted from the user is displayed(212). It is judged whether the user inputs another breeding unit(214). In case that a connection termination command is inputted(216), the user stores the life of the virtual pet on the user's homepage(218). It is checked whether the user wants to download the program to the user's computer(220). The program is downloaded(222). |
