PURPOSE: Liquid crystal display(LCD) and method for manufacturing the same are to prevent an LC color filter from being damaged due to a high temperature for forming a transparent conductive layer. CONSTITUTION: The first substrate(1) and the second substrate(200) apart from the first substrate and facing the first substrate are prepared. A transparent conductive layer(100) made of indium tin oxide(ITO) is formed on the first substrate. A cholesteric LC filter(110) is formed on the transparent conductive layer. The cholesteric LC filter includes a self-oriented surfactant therein. A liquid crystal layer(120) is formed on the cholesteric LC filter between the first and second substrates. An external force is applied to the first and second substrates to orientate the liquid crystal layer. The surfactant is self-oriented with an inclination with respect to the surface of the cholesteric LC. |
