PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce solid soap that has good solubility, rapid foaming and foaming properties, forms creamy foam, gives good touch after washing and is resistant to dissolution collapse and cracking, and has high storage stability. SOLUTION: This solid soap characteristically comprises (a) 0.001-10 wt.% of a polymer comprising 60-100 wt.% of a mixture consisting of a compound represented by formula (I) (wherein R1 is H or methyl; R2, R3 and R4 are each a 1-8C alkyl; (n) is 2-4) and a (meth)acrylic alkyl ester at a weight ratio of 100/0-10/90 and (b) 50-90 wt.% of a fatty acid salt.
