PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation method effective for suppressing the rise of ground temperature in hot season in a district having high average temperature to suppress the high temperature injury of the crop, suppress the onset of plant diseases and increase the yield of cultured crop. SOLUTION: The upper surface of soil is covered with a white nonwoven fabric made of a polymer fiber in the cultivation of a plant in hot season. The method is most suitable for the hydroponic culture using pumice as the medium.
