Use of compounds of formula (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for treating Helicobacter pylori infections and gastroduodenal disorders associated therewith, wherein: R1 is selected from alkyl optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms and phenyl or cyclopropyl, which may optionally be substituted by one or two fluorine atoms; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl optionally substituted by hydroxyl, methoxy, amino, methylamino or dimethylamino or (5-methyl-2-oxo-1,3-dioxol-4-yl)-methyl; A is N or C-R3; R3 is hydrogen, halogen, methyl, methoxy, difluoromethoxy or cyano, or together with R1 can for a bridge of the structure -*O-CH2-CH-CH3 or -*CH2-N-CH3, where the atom marked with * is connected to the carbon atom of A; R4 is hydrogen, benzyl, alkyl, (5-methyl-2-oxo-1,3-dioxol-4-yl)-methyl, -CH=CH-COOR5, -CH2CH2COOR5, -CH2CH2CN, -CH2CH2COCH3 or -CH2COCH3; R5 is methyl or ethyl; R6 is hydrogen, amino, hydroxyl, methyl or halogen.
