The conveyor has an inlet device upon which is attached a separating device(21). The inlet device is constructed as a plate(22) which on its entry end has a unit for the delivery of an air jet onto the plate, whereby the air jet flows at least approximately parallel to the plate. The intake section of the inlet device has a round edge(23) around which the air jet is deflected approximately parallel to the plate. The inlet device is movable forwards, namely in the direction towards a web delivery roller or cylinder(6), or backwards.
