PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a composition for the oral cavity and a medicinal composition for external use with slight allergy, capable of exhibiting effective antimicrobial properties on at least carious causative bacteria or Staphyloccus aureus and utilizable as the composition for use in the oral cavity or the medicine for external use. SOLUTION: This composition for the oral cavity or medicinal composition for external use is characterized as comprising an ingredient derived from amber, hinokitiol or a plant essential oil containing the hinokitiol and xylitol.
