PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument which can accurately and easily perform measurement on many samples. SOLUTION: This measuring instrument 10 is provided with a file-storing means 44, which can store calibration parameters for suction amounts versus suction time found by sucking standard samples for certain periods of time by means of a pump 18 and measuring the suction time and sucking amounts for every sample, a sample amount designating means 26, which can designate the suction amounts of the pump 18 as the amount of each sample to be measured, and a control means 22 which reads out the file of the same standard sample as the sample to be measured, the suction amount of which is designated from the designating means 26 from the files of the storing means 44, finds the suction time during which the sample is sucked by the suction amount designated from the designating means 26 is obtained by using the calibration parameters of the read-out file, and makes a main body 16 conduct measurement on the sample by causing the pump 18 to suck the sample, only during the found suction time.
