<p>An impact energy absorbing member, characterized by comprising a fiber-reinforced resin long member having longitudinal and thick directions, the long member having a ratio (t/L) of a thickness t (mm) to a length L (mm) of 1/11,000 to 6/1000 with the direction of an external force substantially identical to a thick direction of an impact member. The member sufficiently absorbs the impact energy from a movable body at the time of impact and, for example, a safety against impact of transportation equipment such as car is increased remarkably and also, because the member is light and compact, the environmental resistance and energy saving of the transportation equipment can be increased, and a damage to social assets can be reduced when the member is applied to the houses and buildings which may be collided with the transportation equipment.</p> |
