Refuse separation using difference in density (specific gravity), wherein, when an object is allowed to fall freely in a fluid, its terminal speed (at which acceleration motion changes to uniform motion) differs according to difference in density of the object; therefore, refuses falling in a fluid require different times in reaching the bottom and refuses of different types are received in separate containers for ease of separation when received by a moving train of many connected containers. This separation method can be used for separation of mixtures other than refuses and additionally for functions other than separation by using, as fluid, gas other than air and liquid, thereby finding a wide range of applications with a significant utility value.
