PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device capable of simultaneously compacting a car body dimension and reducing occupant deceleration in a higher degree. SOLUTION: The occupant crash protection device comprises a car body of which a part (a front side frame in an embodiment) deformed by a collision load is disposed in the front of at least a cabin 3, a structure (an engine 6 in the embodiment) comprising a rigid body supported by the car body so as to be backed by the collision load, a seat 8 that includes a seat belt 9 for restricting a sitting occupant and is supported by the car body movably back and forth, and a force transferring means (a cable 1 in the embodiment) for transferring the backing movement of the structure to back the seat. The structure such as the engine backs at the instant of the collision, and in cooperation with this the seat also backs. Deceleration higher than cabin part deceleration is generated in the seat and the seat belt in the initial time of the collision, so that constraint force of an occupant by the seat belt is increased.
