PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of heat within a washing tank caused by the propagation of vibration energy to the washing tank by suppressing the impingement of the vibration energy, which propagates through the washing liquid in the washing tank, against the washing tank without more lowering the vibration energy propagating through the washing liquid in the washing tank than before and to prevent the possibility of the leak of the washing liquid caused by the deformation of the washing tank by generated heat. SOLUTION: In an ultrasonic washing apparatus wherein the object to be washed immersed in the washing liquid charged in a washing tank is washed by vibration energy propagated through the washing liquid and the propagation of vibration energy to the washing tank is suppressed by the shield member arranged in the washing tank, the shield member has an outer peripheral wall and the internal space hermetically closed by the outer peripheral wall and the internal space is filled with air.
