PLASTIC SPECTACLE LENS HAVING EXCELLENT ULTRAVIOLET RAY ABSORBABILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic spectacle lens which is less colored although the lens nearly completely absorbs long-wavelength UV rays. SOLUTION: This plastic spectacle lens consists essentially of diethylene glycol bis-allyl carbonate and contains a UV absorbent. The plastic spectacle lens has the excellent UV absorbability that the UV transmittance at a wavelength 385 nm is <=3%, the UV transmittance at a wavelength 390 nm is <=10% and the UV transmittance at a wavelength 400 nm is <=60% at the lens center when the central thickness of the lens is specified to 1.5 to 2.4 mm, and YI (yellow degree) is in the range of 1.0 to 2.0.
