PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backing layer for a heat developable photosensitive material having satisfactory adhesive strength, free from deterioration of surface properties due to heat development and causing no problem of blocking. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has a photosensitive layer containing silver halide grains, a reducible non-photosensitive organic silver salt and a reducing agent for silver on one face of the substrate and a backing layer containing a cellulose derivative as a binder and an acrylic polymer on the other face of the substrate.
