PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device small in circuit scale, low in cost and capable of storing image data generated by an image pickup element. SOLUTION: This image pickup device has the image pickup element 101 generating the image data, a memory 112 storing the image data, a memory control circuit 104 controlling the wiring of the image data generated by the image pickup element in the memory, and a timing generator 113, which makes a temporary stoppage of the output of a drive pulse, a while the image pickup element outputs the image data for one line in the case of outputting the driving pulse which drives the image pickup element.
