PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy finding out of installation points of optical connectors 24 to be connected with portable terminal stations 66 and yet to prevent impairment of surrounding views with information transmission equipment installed in long-distance routes of roads, railroads, rivers, etc. SOLUTION: A trunk optical cable 10 is laid along the long-distance route, and the end of the trunk optical cable is connected to a base station 14. The branch optical cables 20 are connected to the trunk optical cable 10 near distance sign poles 12, installed at every specified distance along the long-distance route. The respective branch optical cables 20 are introduced into the distance sign poles 12 near these cables. Optical connectors 24, mounted at the terminals of the respective branch optical cables 20, are so fixed at the distance sign poles 12, that the partner side optical connectors 70 are connected to the branch optical cables 20 from the outside.
