PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator which is improved in mass, volume, dynamics, and thermal stress. SOLUTION: In the evaporator which has a porous evaporating material 2 having thermal conductivity and is used for evaporating a liquid, a gas oxidizing agent can flow on one surface 3 of the evaporating material 2 containing a catalytic material 5 and the opposite surface of the evaporating material 2 has gas impermeability 4. In addition, the liquid to be evaporated and, in an appropriate case, additional fuel can be sent onto the surface 3 of the evaporating material 2 and the catalytic material 5 is supplied with necessary heat of vaporization through the exothermic reaction of the liquid accompanied by the gas oxidizing agent or, in the appropriate case, of the additional fuel. |
