PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for estimating the initial pole of an AC synchronous motor in which the initial pole can be estimated accurately in a short time. SOLUTION: The unit for estimating the initial pole of an AC synchronous motor 11 provided in the controller thereof comprises a speed gain control section, means 102 for deciding a mode section, means 1103 for selecting first or second period section according to the results of the mode selecting means 102, making a decision whether a command speed is in a data acquisition speed section or not when a first period section 1101 is selected and operating first command torque data from a command torque in the data acquisition speed section, means 1203 for making a decision whether a command speed is in a data acquisition speed section or not when a second period section 1201 is selected and operating second command torque data from a command torque in the data acquisition speed section, and means for operating an estimated initial pole position using the information of first and second torque data. |
