PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger adapted to reductions in size and weight as a laminate type heat exchanger having good refrigerant distributability in a header tank, small pressure loss of a refrigerant side, large degree of freedoms of designing, a low facility cost, and excellent dimensional stability of a core even by simultaneously integrally connecting shop assembled constituting members by furnace brazing. SOLUTION: Many flat tubes 1 are disposed in parallel through zigzag fins 2 therebetween to form a core 3. Header tanks 4 connected to communicate with the ends of the tubes 1 are provided at both sides of the core 3. Openings 7 opposed to a flat surface 2b are formed at both ends of the tubes 1. A short cylinder 8 coinciding with the openings at both ends is fixed between the adjacent tubes 1 and 1. The cylinders 8 arrays in series in a laminating direction of the tubes 1 to constitute the header tanks 4.
