PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rounded projecting, recessed and expanded tip type gear having a wide range of application such as application to a machine, an automobile, a motor cycle and a bicycle and a high energy saving effect, by which the frictional resistance during rotation can be reduced because both gears are the rounded projecting and recessed type gears, and abrasion of a contact portion can be reduced not to be broken, so that in the bicycle or the like, the transmission efficiency to a chain is not lowered, and the transmission efficiency between the chain and a rear wheel gear is not lowered so as to transmit pedaling force to the rear wheel without decrease. SOLUTION: When the outer periphery of a main gear 1 is formed in a rounded projecting and recessed expanded tip shape 2 and the thus formed gear is combined with a similarly formed driven gear 3 or chain 4, meshing of the gears can be facilitated to smoothly rotate the gears.
